We took the season’s pass for the pool again, which runs from mid-May to mid-September. The weather has been warm from the beginning and really hot throughout most of June.
Our flat, under the roof, has been hot too, hovering between 28 (at night) and 32°. So, we have escaped the stifling heat to the pool every afternoon. There, under the shade of large trees, by the river, we play games, read, rest – and we swim (2 kms for John, 7-800m for Jenny).
So, no hike this month (it has been pretty hot up there too, with no shade), just a couple of quick dashes to Geneva for a family lunch or a school outing. A stopover in the pretty town of Avenches was very pleasant though.
p. s. “I can’t, I have to go to the pool” became a standard staying in French to illustrate a busy agenda, an excuse for better things to do. “J’ai piscine” is incorrect French
Nous avons à nouveau pris l’abonnement saisonnier de la piscine qui court de mi-mai à mi-septembre. Contrairement à l’an dernier, nous avons pu en profiter dès le début et nous abriter quelque peu de la chaleur de ce mois de juin.
Il fait très chaud dans notre appartement sous les combles (28° la nuit, 32+ la journée) et la piscine dans un grand parc arboré, au bord de la rivière nouus offre un répit : nous nageons, jouons, lisons et nous y reposons.
Donc, pas de randonnée ce mois-ci (il fait chaud en montagne aussi) mais deux voyages brefs à Genève pour un repas en famille et une sortie d’école. Un arrêt dans la jolie petite ville d’Avenches a été un plaisir.
