Raccards

We have left Saas Fee and have a couple more comments :
It has kept some of its old granaries (raccard). These structures are typically built on stilts and have a big circular stone on each pillar, preventing rodents from eating the grains. Many of them have now been transformed into residences.

The Saas valley has its own distinctive race of sheep (quite different to the black face, yak-looking, fluffy Valais breed). They were not shy and kept trying to grab our apricots.

Nous avons quitté Saas Fee et avons quelques commentaires :
Le village a gardé quelques vieux raccards (greniers). Ces bâtiments sont construits sur des pilierd et une grosse pierre circulaire empêche les rongeurs de s’attaquer aux graines. Beaucoup de ces raccards ont été transformés en résidence dans tout le canton.

La vallée de Saas a sa race particulière de moutons (différents des moutons à tête noire, qui ressemble à de minis yaks). Ces moutons ne sont pas timides et essayaient de goûter à nos abricots.
