Every village in La Mancha seems to have its statue of Don Quijote and its hotel/restaurant/guesthouse Dulcinea but it is Sancho (Panza) that has one of Consuegra’s twelve windmills in his name.
The situation of the windmills on a hill, in a row, like a string of pearls, makes them very visible from a long distance. Once on the spot, we found it quite crowded but it was well worth going up there, if only to see the magnificent valley on the other side.
