The Moorish architecture of Córdoba made it possible to somewhat escape the unseasonal heat of 38°c, about 8 to 10° c above the norm for end of April.
The narrow streets gave us the necessary shade to get to the Palacio de Viana, where the 12 patios and gardens kept us remarkably cool.
The mansion was originally built in the 14th century and adjacent lands and properties were bought over the years to create gardens and bring it to its present appearance. The king and queen of Spain lived there for various periods in 1914, 1916 and 1921. If it is fit for a king….
It now belongs to Cajasur and has been open to the public for more than 40 years. Visits are free-of-charge on Wednesday afternoons. It boasts the largest concentration of patios in the city.

L’architecture mauresque de Cordoue nous a permis d’échapper quelque peu à la chaleur non saisonnière de 38°c, soit environ 8 à 10°c de plus que la norme pour une fin avril.
Les rues étroites nous ont donné l’ombre nécessaire pour nous rendre au palais de Viana, où les 12 patios et jardins nous ont permis de rester remarquablement au frais.
Le manoir a été construit à l’origine au XIVe siècle et les terrains et propriétés adjacents ont été achetés au fil des ans pour créer des jardins et lui donner son aspect actuel. Le roi et la reine d’Espagne y ont vécu pendant plusieurs périodes en 1914, 1916 et 1921. S’il est digne d’un roi….
Il appartient aujourd’hui à Cajasur et est ouvert au public depuis plus de 40 ans. Les visites sont gratuites le mercredi après-midi. Il s’agit de la plus grande concentration de patios de la ville.
